DTBaller23 asked:
Is it unconstitutional for the government to put surveillance cameras in areas of high crime? What if the tapes are only to be used as evidence when a crime is committed?
If it’s legal, then why don’t we put a camera on every street corner? Won’t that help fight crime?

I have renters some of which may be theives. I also live in this house and own it. Is it legal for me to put invisible unknown security cameras in common areas (not bathrooms or bedrooms) with the risk that it may pick up a conversation that I was not personally privy to?

Midian asked:
I was reading around and apparently businesses in some states are allowed to have cameras in their fitting rooms as long as someone of the same gender watches the cameras. They’re also allowed to keep recordings! That’s sick! I don’t want to have to worry about some dude checking me out while I try on clothes. Does anybody know if that’s the case in North Carolina or not?

I have this theory that the surveillance cameras at places like Ralph’s and Starbucks are unmonitored and primarily serve as a deterrent to shoplifting, rather than actively trying to catch people in the act of stealing. Am I correct in my assumption?
